Day One: Colombo – Dambulla

Arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport – you will be met by our representative and transferred in a luxury Toyota Prado to the Amaya Signature in Dambulla.
Overnight stay includes a four-course set menu dinner and served breakfast at the hotel. Personal butler service is also included.

Day Two: Dambulla – Sigiriya – Kandy

After an early breakfast, proceed to climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. *Sigiriya Rock Fortress – sometimes referred to as the ´Eighth Wonder of the World´, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress is an iconic attraction in Sri Lanka. Dating back to the 5th century and built during the reign of King Kasyapa, the fortress was also known as the ´Lion Rock´ due to the massive lion structure that is believed to have been constructed at its entrance. For over 18 years it served as a royal citadel and features unique water gardens, ornate rock frescoes known as the ´Sigiriya maidens´ and a special Mirror Wall with ancient verses etched onto it. Those reaching the summit can look forward to not only seeing ruins of the palace but also some truly breathtaking panoramas. Proceed to Kandy – visit a spice garden and a batik factory on the way.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the sacred city of Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The last great kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka, this city lies nestled in the heart of the mountains, around 480 meters above sea level. Steeped in history, Kandy offers a unique perspective of the island´s rich heritage; visit the famed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and Royal Botanical Gardens and take in picturesque views of the city from the Upper Lake Drive. Kandy is also well known for offering plenty of opportunities for shopping and you can enjoy some retail therapy be it purchasing distinctive Sri Lankan handicrafts, jewelry, gems or batiks.
*Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic – located within the royal palace complex, this historic temple is one of the island´s most sacred sites, especially amongst Buddhist devotees. Locally referred to as the ´Sri Dalada Maligawa´, the temple is home to what is believed to be a tooth relic of Lord Buddha and is the focal point of the annual festival known as the Kandy Esala Perahera.

Day Three : Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Royal Botanical Gardens. *Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage – one of Sri Lanka´s most beloved attractions, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage gives visitors a chance to get up close with these gentle giants. Started with the purpose of looking after orphaned young elephants, the orphanage is also involved in captive breeding. The bathing and feeding sessions are definitely the highlights here; the much-loved bathing time is at a nearby river from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 02:00 pm to 04:00 pm. The baby elephant feeding sessions are generally at 09:15 am and 01:15 pm.
*Royal Botanical Gardens – amongst the premier botanical gardens in Sri Lanka, the Royal Botanical Gardens is home to over 4,000 plant species. Located in Peradeniya, Kandy, the site not only features endemic flora but foreign plant species as well. It is one of Asia´s finest botanical gardens and is well known for its collection of orchids as well as talipot palms, spices, cannonball trees, and medicinal plants. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
Stop by a tea factory en-route to see how world-famous Ceylon tea is produced and prepared. Referred to as ´Little England´, Nuwara Eliya resembles an old English town complete with a picturesque lake, quaint cottages, horse racing track, an Anglican church, and even an 18 hole golf course. Visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens which is home to more than 10,000 species of flora including an exotic collection of roses, orchids, and ferns. One night stay with dinner and breakfast at Langdale by Amaya.

Day Four: Nuwara Eliya – Yala

After Breakfast, proceed to Yala via Ella. A train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella is optional and can be added to the package on request subject to the availability of the train tickets. The chauffeur guide will drop you at the Nanu Oya railway station and pick you again at the Ella railway station and will take you to the hotel in Yala. The train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella is supposed to be one of the most scenic and beautiful journeys in the world. One night stay with dinner and breakfast at a luxury hotel in Yala.

Day Five : Yala – Koggala

After early breakfast, experience the typical Sri Lankan wildlife safari in the morning. Yala combines a strict nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks, and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public. Situated in Sri Lanka´s south-east hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world´s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodiles. The best time to visit Yala is between February and July when the water levels of the park are quite low, bringing animals into the open. Transfers from Yala to Koggala for your most awaited Beach Holiday. Day Eleven: Koggala – Airport

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Bandaranaike International Airport for your flight back home.
